yays,i finally have internets :) so i can keep all you lovely people updated on my student adventure.
so,i had my first ever lecture this morning, and ended up getting totally lost. that was until i looked in my pukka pad (10 minutes too late) and relaised that i was in the right building, but looking for the wrong room.
and when i arrived and logged on,i had to change my password. GREAT.
but i met a rather wonderful guy who i'd spoken to on the legendary induction portal before i came to uni (he knows where i live, which makes him wonderful, and he supports the football team of the town where i spent 11 years of my life and where i went to college),so we had a good chat.
then i saw a guy who i met last week, and we spent time in between finding my course leader to change my godforsaken messed up timetable, trying to find him a boyfriend and introducing him to my other friend with the same name.
i waited 1 ridiculous hour to see my course leader. at first i thought that i'd got the wrong person, but it was her! She told me that I couldn't do the course that I had wanted to do,so I had to change it. Which means that I'll prolly go back into uni later and talk it through with my tutor.
Then I went to the bookshop near the university, and my card decided to play up,so i had to go out and get some cash to pay for them, which was no problem, and i ended up getting them in the end,and then i went to Oxfam and found a decent pair of jeans. And when walking back to halls,I discovered that you don't just see women getting drenched by passing buses in ads and films, you can also see it in Manchester, because it happened to me today.
So now I am just sat in my room after eating 2 cookies (I should be the next Kathreya) and some juice and a packet of Maltesers to calm me down (I am not fat,I just didn't have breakfast this morning-plus chocolate has feel good endorphins in),and I should really e-mail my combined honours tutor to sort out my timetable.
One last word, however: Being a student,I discovered an amazing superstore run on the Wilmslow Road (walking down the Rusholme Curry Mile has never been more relaxing for me of a Sunday evening),and I managed to get food on a budget (non self imposed) and I discovered the following things that they sold-at cheap prices
Halal Haribo
MOUNTAIN DEW!!! :D
Cherry Jelly
Tuna
:D hurrah.
Anyway,talk soon :)

freshers week.
or freshers' fortnight,as it is deemed at my university.
i've been here for 8 days, and it's had its exciting, drunken times,to its lonely weeping, regretful times. (last night being one when my dad got up and left me to drive back home. it took him about 30 minutes to keep me calm) i've done the generic (drunken late nights with the people your mum warned me about) and the plain weird (pissing in the kitchen cum common room after drinking far too much),regained my dignity and sobriety, and found some confidence and a sense of adventure to go with it,caught what i suspect is freshers' flu, worked on 5 + socialist party stalls around manchester, been woken up three times by my flatmates, one in particular was screaming ''k hole'' in the kitchen at 6 this morning, getting lost at salford quays train station...but it's been great :)
i will keep you updated on my adventures in the next 3/4 years.
